Dr. Fred Vanderwerf, Southern Prairie District superintendent, explores the text in 1 Peter 4:7 that says, “The end of all things is near.” It was not the world’s trouble and chaos that signaled to the early apostles that the last days were upon them, but rather that something so inexplicably new had happened in the resurrection of Jesus. As Easter people, perhaps every sermon ought to be an end times sermon.
