Minnesota Hopeful EarthKeepers encourages all congregations to participate in celebrating and taking action around Earth Day in April. This session will focus on resources from the United Methodist Creation Justice Movement to plan Earth Day related worship and education opportunities for your congregation.
Cathy Velasquez Eberhart is a MN Hopeful Earthkeeper, a leader in the United Methodist Creation Justice Movement and an active lay member of Prospect Park UMC. She is the mother of three adult children and the co-owner of Velasquez Family Coffee, a fair trade coffee business that sells the coffee grown by her husband Guillermo’s family in Honduras.
Nancy Victorin-Vangerud is a MN Hopeful Earthkeeper and retired elder, having served as director of Hamline University’s Wesley Center for Spirituality, Service and Social Justice. An urban gardener, Nancy participates in Hennepin Ave UMC’s Creation Collective and the UMC Creation Justice Movement’s worship team.
